I know everyone has their personal favourite HDD makers, but Samsungs are regularly reviewed very well and from my own experience are quiet and damn fast! This particular drive has 3x 334gb platters rather than the usual 4x 250gb that most use for their 1TB drives - that means fewer moving parts, less heat and (in theory) faster access!
