Think it's similar to Steam in that you still need to use Origin to play no matter where you buy from. Could be wrong though!

No idea, but this isn't the first game on Origin and its not a new system, it won't be a game breaker.

Think I'm going for the Specact kit.
Hmm, well thats further confused the decision making process.

So Specact is just some skins? Physical warfare pack maybe seems like a good option (avaliable from gameplay), though not sure what 'time-based' exclusive items means?

I'm not really a fan of this in game extras from different retailers thing.

I'm guessing it means no xp needed to start using them and eventually everyone will have unlocked those items.

quote from dave about the origin software:
So... here I am, uninstalling, redownloading and reinstalling Fifa 11 for the fifth time. If anyone is considering buying anything from Origin, I'd urge you to reconsider. When EA updates Origin, it should NOT break the games you have installed, but it has every time. I'd like to say Fifa 11 will be the last product I'll ever by with Origin, but unfortunately I pre-ordered Star Wars: The Old Republic via Origin in July. Can't wait for THAT to break. At least Fifa 11 doesn't need a gigs of patches... -_-

Unfortunately given current lack of funding to purchase a super-beast-PC I am stuck in the plebeian world of the 360. This doesn't stop me from getting excited about Battlefield 3 however. :naughty:

I miss you guys. Life is too busy these days :|

P.S. What's that coming over the hill?

I'm a bit unsure about this now. Read a review and the single player sounds a bit crap. I know it's more about the multiplayer but I still hoped for a decent single player campaign after watching the video.

Too bad i suck at aiming! The last shooter i played a lot was TF2 so i'm afraid i still have some work to do before i can start headshotting everyone :)

Oh I know the feeling, TF2 has probably been my main FPS recently as well. Although I have played some CSS of late and thankfully this is a lot less forgiving than that if your aim isn't up to scratch.

I'll probably get more annoyed with the game once a lot of people get good, but I guess at the moment there are still a lot of people learning. Having great fun for now anyway, even if I do occasionally get head shots from people I cant see, or blown up by a plane the minute I get in a tank. :)

I was slightly scared as I just had to install an Origin update, fortunately it doesnt seem to have broken BF3, phew! Still rather not have origin but it hasn't caused me any head aches at least.
