Re: New Monitor Time
I communicate as it is a movie theater deep emotion!
Sold!
Sorry I can't help much on this one - I've not bought a monitor for 6 years (a Dell 2007WFP, still going strong) so my knowledge on the matter isn't what you could call up-to-date! The Dell IPS screens are well regarded (but fairly expensive), that's about it!
Those Korean jobbies look sweet - even 5 dead pixels would be difficult to spot amongst 3.6million of them

Now that my pc is near finished (for a few months anyway) - have a decent mouse and keyboard, good headset a monitor is next i'm afraid.

Re: New Monitor Time
They put the wrong postcode on the parcel so now I have to wait another day
Re: New Monitor Time
Decided not to wait, as I really want it to arrive before iSeries. Ended up ordering the same screen as Seppy through an Amazon UK reseller called AccessoriesWhole-UK.
In theory, doing this means that I get the standard UK 7-day distance selling right to cancel, and the store claims to offer a one-year warranty with returns only needing to go as far as the UK warehouse, from where they'll be shipped on to Korea free of charge.
Delivery should apparently be 3-5 working days, but we shall see.

Re: New Monitor Time
It's good! At least the screen is, no dead pixels, bit of bleed in the lower right corner but easily tolerable. The stand sucks arse though. Bit wobbly - might look into ways to secure it.
Re: New Monitor Time
Congratulations! Looks like mine is being shipped over from Korea after all, it's currently in Incheon according to Fed Ex. Will be interesting to see if they hit their 3-5 working day lead time.
You might find this page useful - it's got some instructions on how to replace the stand.

Re: New Monitor Time
Yeah I've already read a fair bit of that thread. It's the top link when you google catleap I think I'd be more inclined to steady it by propping something either side of the stand though. Maybe something more long term later on.

Still using the MX518? So am I. Though I keep waiting for an excuse to change it with a G400.Septih wrote:Like so:
Thanks for the links, I can't believe how often they're changing their advice on which LCD to get... I remember looking around for a new monitor this spring and there where some Acer and BQs on top, at least on the low end of the spectrum. That cheap AOC 23'' IPS for just about 150 euros is so tempting, but seems no dealer here in Romania has it. The Korean ones are so, so big compared to what I feel comfortable playing on.

I don't know what a better mouse would be like
