Our DBAs refuse to support anything involving SQL server.... It falls to the server support team instead apparently.

I'm trying to break into DBA or a better SQL developer role right now.. tests like these are really fsking me up :(

I am sure you would do a better job then our DBAs. Product(40,000)-store(3,000)-date(5 years) level table without having date in the index or any partitions + very over utilised dwh = excuse for new £5m new box.
