Release dates - Cataclysm and 4.0.1

The release of patch 4.0.1 is apparently scheduled for either October 5th or October 13th. Yes, that's right - in less than 2 weeks we may see all the class, gear and UI changes implemented in the game. At the moment it looks like the US servers will get it on the 5th and the EU servers on the 13th.

The release of Cataclysm has also been announced - it will arrive on December 7th. The new Arena season will start one week later, on December 14th.

Obviously these dates are subject to change, as they have been in the past, but they seem fairly confident they'll stick.

Looks like the US won't be getting 4.0.1 tommorrow so it's likely that we won't get it on the 14th either. Possibly one week delay on both counts, but maybe longer depending on how much more polishing they're doing. Frankly I'm surprised it's going to be so soon, they're still making a lot of changes to talents, spells and abilities.

Also, probably nobody is really bothered about this, but after 4.0.1 it seems it will not be possible to buy gems with Honor points. If you were planning to do that for whatever reason make sure you do it before the patch arrives.

Any idea what will happen with the old Bg tokens? Noticed last night I still have quite a lot of them on my druid.

You mean Marks of Honor? They'll get turned into Honor Points (roughly 3 points per mark).

US patch to 4.0.1 has been confirmed as happening tonight. Still no confirmation on whether we'll get the patch tomorrow or not but it seems likely that we will.

Oh, and if you want to take a look at the new talents and glyphs and work out your new build, there's an up to date talent calculator here.

As far as glyphs go, there are now three types - Minor, Major and Prime. When you use a glyph you "learn" it so there's no need to keep stacks of glyphs in your inventory. To replace a glyph with one you've previously used you just need some "Dust of Disappearance", available from your local Inscription supplies vendor or crafted by Scribes.

Indeed I have no idea how to play a druid tank anymore...
They have basically changed every single one of our abilities
At least I have some chance to work out of its playable or if I level one my other chars come expansion
